Many people want to know why I wrote Engaged! Surprisingly, it was my husband’s idea.
Seeing many women become completely unhinged through the engagement period, I realized there was a need for them to connect with God during this special time in their lives. The key was, how to make that connection feasible and immediately applicable to their present life situation. To do that, I felt it was important to bring the spiritual aspect into the engagement and marriage process. Engaged! is a tool women can use, to help them navigate their way through the everyday up's and down's of love and marriage.
I also wanted to address the dynamics of other relationships that are going on around every bride. Mom is worried, dad is fearful and siblings are concerned. Engaged! brings to light some of those relationships and presents them to the reader in a way bride's can relate to.The prayers were chosen to redirect the bride's thoughts unto concern for others around her and to create a grateful heart every day, even if the table cloths are a shade different than your color scheme or the cake shows up missing a few layers.
All of the scriptures in this book came from much prayer and I have faith they will minister to those who read them.
