Prayer Ministry

Are you having a bad week? Pre-wedding jitters or just want to vent? PRAY!

Daily Prayer

Father, help me to remember how blessed I am today. With the situation in Haiti, unemployment and so much discouragement in the world, let me be a light to someone who needs a friend. Use me as an instrument of Your love, grace and hope. So many women are in love, like me, yet they are in tough situations. Remind me all week long how blessed and loved I am. When I lose my cool, bring to my remembrance the many things I have to be grateful for.
Amen

Flexing Your Faith

Romans 12:6

Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly.

With all that is in the news and the complex problems so many are facing, ask the Lord to open your eyes to see blessings in every situation. See if you can't find that silver lining in every cloud that drifts through your life.

Smile when you don't feel like it, sing when you want to shout and laugh when you feel like crying. It's when you push yourself outside of your comfort zone, that you will see God!

This Week's Scripture is:

 The Power of Laughter

Sometimes It's All There Is

If you have the gift of being able to laugh at yourself, then you will sail through this whole wedding process.

Can't quite see your life as an enactment of the Three

Stooges? Then you have the next three months to cultivate agreat sense of humor. Laughter is an effective and wonderful antidote for stress.

So is Auntie Mabel adamant about wearing that outlandish orange dress? Let's face it-you have two choices: You can either allow minor problems to have power over you and your emotions, or you can take charge of the situation with laughter.

If you can chuckle over a problem, it immediately diffuses

any emotional hold it has over you and restores you to a

position of power.

How You Can Help Haiti

Working in Disaster Recovery myself, I have seen that once the cameras leave, many times the people are forgotten.

Pray: Pray for the people of Haiti and safety for all of the responders, the speedy rescue of survivors and the ability  of all the organizations to work together to bring glory to the Lord and  to do His will.

Give: Even though you want to get right in there and help, the best help you can give right now, is to provide finances so those who are trained in the area of emergency response can get the resources they need, to provide aid and comfort in Haiti.

Plan:Inquire at your local church if there are teams being prepared to travel to Haiti to assist in restoration of the broken country. If not, consider sponsoring a training at your church.

Prepare:Visit webistes such as UMCOR, UMVIM, Red Cross, etc. and see what they will be needing in the future.
