Prayer Ministry

Are you having a bad week? Pre-wedding jitters or just want to vent? PRAY!

Daily Prayer

Father, as the day draws near for my wedding, so many doubts and worries consume me and I wonder if the decision I made was in line with what you have for my life. I ask that you confirm to me that this is the man you have chosen for me. I am scared and apprehensive about the wedding. Will everything go alright? How can I just rest in your peace and grace? Help me to minister to those who are not as fortunate as I am, those with futures not as bright and those who have not felt the love of Christ. Make me an instrument of your grace today.
Amen

Flexing Your Faith

Romans 12:6

Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly.

If you find you are doubting God with some of the details of your wedding and your future, try exercising your faith.

It's when you see the hand
of God move on your behalf that you understand the awesome power and all consuming love He has for you.

Today believe that you truly are the "apple of His eye." Let God spoil you and show you His
splendor. But to do that, He needs you to open your eyes and move about your day with an air of anticipation. Be looking for His presence and He will show it to you!

This Week's Scripture is:

 The Ultimate Friendship

Through PMS and debt, he'll be there.

You have heard it said that men refuse to ask for directions, and that is generally true. Picture your life together as a giant road trip. When you are PMSing, your mate is totally confused and lost, but don't think he is going to stop and ask for directions. No, he's going to wear himself out, going around and around in the same place until finally your emotional outbursts make him park that overheared car, which is all he knows to do, and wait for the engine to cool down.

At the end of your journey, it will be your sweet husband, your best friend, who will be with you to remind you of all the zany mishaps and special moments you have shared. So pack up, grab that wedding planner, and hang on for the ride of your life!

How You Can Help Haiti

Working in Disaster Recovery myself, I have seen that once the cameras leave, many times the people are forgotten.

Pray: Pray for the people of Haiti, safety for all of the responders, the speedy rebuilding of Haiti and salvation for the people of the impoverished nation. With hurricane season upon us, pray the country be spared from any more destruction.

Give: Even though you want to get right in there and help, the best aid you can give right now, is to send financial support. This allows those who are trained in the area of emergency response, to get the resources they need, to provide aid and comfort in Haiti.

Plan: Inquire at your local church if there are teams being prepared to travel to Haiti to assist in restoration of the broken country. If not, consider sponsoring a training at your church.

Prepare: Visit webistes such as UMCOR, UMVIM, Red Cross, etc. and see what they will be needing in the future.
