Wedding Trivia

Did you know that playing tricks on the newlywed couple was a tradition which began with the intentions of warding off evil spirits?

Loyal friends of the couple would do this in hopes that the spirits would take pity on the couple for already being picked upon enough, and would then leave the couple alone.

The Kissing Tree
is a cool new site where you type in your name and message and it gets imprinted into a picture of a  tree, then it is emailed to that special one in your life. It is just toooo cute!

Dealing with Pre-Wedding Stress

Don't forget to have fun during your engagement! You may wonder how that is possible with all of the little details you have to deal with every day, but you can, and it's all up to you. You dictate the course of your life and how you respond to pre-wedding stress will tell a lot about you and your mate.

It's kind of a snap shot of how you will react in situations that are spiraling out of control and plans that are going wigwammy. You must learn how to be flexible and go with the flow of your life. I live in Florida and I see how during the hurricanes, when the winds are blowing at 130 miles per hour, the palm trees just bend and sway but the brittle pine trees snap off.

Taking a hard stance on minor details of the wedding might not be the best thing to do. There is a time to fight and there is a time to shake your head, say a prayer and "let it go."

Nina Callaway has written a great article on Stress Management you might want to check out. And more importantly, don't forget to pray, that always makes everything better!

Wedding Tips for the Heart

How's your wedding planning going?

If you can keep the mindset that you are dealing with literally thousands of little details and it is an absolute truth that something will go wrong, then you are one step ahead of the game.

Think about the amount of intricate items you are dealing with and compare your wedding to a huge undertaking of any kind. If you filter a small amount of error into your calculations, you will see that all of those problems you are dealing with, are really tiny in comparison to the scope of your whole wedding. Once you let yourself allow for a small amount of error, then when something does goes wrong, it doesn't totally devastate you.

Now see, I've just saved you from gobbling down a pint of cookie dough ice cream in frustration. So relax, let yourself breathe and give yourself a pat on the back for how many details you have gotten to flow seamlessly.
